The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has officially postponed the remaining papers of the CA Final, Intermediate, and Post Qualification Course (PQC) examinations, including the International Taxation – Assessment Test (INTT AT), scheduled from May 9 to May 14, 2025. The decision comes amid heightened tensions and a deteriorating security situation following recent military developments along the India-Pakistan border. According to the official ICAI notice, “In view of the tense and security situation in the Country, the remaining papers… stand postponed.”
As per the original schedule, CA Final Group I exams were conducted on May 2, 4, and 6. Group II exams were to be held on May 8, 10, and 13. For the Intermediate level, Group I exams took place on May 3, 5, and 7. Group II papers were scheduled for May 9, 11, and 14 — all of which are now postponed. The Post Qualification Course exam (INTT AT) was also planned within this timeframe and is affected by the deferment.
The ICAI has not announced revised dates for the postponed exams as of May 9. The official notification states that the new schedule will be published “in due course.” Students have been advised to check the official website — icai.org — regularly for updates. The ICAI generally provides sufficient notice before rescheduling to ensure logistical preparedness and student readiness.
The postponement affects candidates across India as well as in international examination centres, including Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, Doha, Dubai, Kathmandu, Kuwait, Muscat, Riyadh, and Thimphu. Exams for CA Foundation remain unaffected and will take place as scheduled on May 15, 17, 19, and 21. Candidates appearing for the Foundation, Intermediate, and Final exams have the option to write in English or Hindi, while the INTT AT exam is conducted only in English.
Separately, the University of Kashmir has also confirmed the postponement of all its examinations due to the current situation. It has stated that a revised exam schedule will be issued later. No timeline has been provided for either announcement. The examination authorities have not specified any further changes to other academic or evaluation processes.
